✍️ Booking & Design ✍️
How do I book an appointment with you?
You can book an appointment through my online booking form by clicking the "Book a Tattoo" button in the navigation menu. Please provide detailed information about your desired design, size, and placement to help me prepare for your session.
Can I walk in, or do I need an appointment?
I do take walk-ins at Watermelon Tattoo Studio, subject to availabilty and how much drawing is required. Its always best to book in advance to avoid disappointment.
Do you offer consultations?
Yes, if you want a consultation just let me know - they're free and its often easier or necessary for more complex ideas. This gives us a chance to discuss your ideas, review reference images, and ensure we're on the same page before your appointment.
How much does a tattoo cost?
My minimum price is £80 for small, simple designs. Larger or more complex pieces are priced based on size, detail, and time required. I'll provide a quote after reviewing your design request.
Can you copy a tattoo I found online?
I'm happy to refer to an existing tattoo/work of art as a piece of inspiration, in fact sharing other works you like is very helpful for me to understand your taste and preferences. I'll take the elements you love and spin them into something original and yours. However I'll never copy another artist's work like-for-like; if you want their work, go to them!
Can I bring my own design?
Absolutely! I welcome client designs and can help refine them to work well as a tattoo. I'll review your design and suggest any necessary adjustments to ensure it translates well to skin.
Can I see the design before the appointment?
Unfortunately, I am unable to provide drawings in advance. I'm confident that you'll be happy with my designs, and I always allow time for some small tweaks on the day. However if you're at all unsure, I'd reccomend booking an in-person consultation with me, so I can do a few doodles with you and assure we're both on the same page.
What's your cancellation or reschedule policy?
Your appointment is secured with a non-refundable deposit and can be rescheduled once if needed. If for any reason you need to reschedule, please let me know with 48 hours notice of your appointment. Reschedules after this point will be considered a cancellation, and will require a new deposit to be placed.
⏰ Before the Appointment ⏰
How should I prepare for my tattoo appointment?
Get a good night's sleep, eat a substantial meal before your appointment, and stay
hydrated.
Make sure you're squeaky clean with a good shower - please don't forget to apply deodorant as
naturally getting tattooed can be a sweaty process, especially in summer months!
Please don't shave the area yourself, I'll do it for you so as to reduce risk of cuts or razor
burn.
Avoid alcohol 24 hours before your appointment. Inform me if you're feeling unwell, or something has
affected the tattoo site (eg. you've got an outbreak of exzema or you've ended up with a wound in
that area).
Also, if you're booked for a longer session you might want to consider some entertainment such as a
book or headphones.
What should I wear to my tattoo session?
Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing that allows easy access to the area being tattooed. Old (but clean!) clothes preferred, probably in darker colours, as ink has a tendency to gravitate towards expensive irreplaceable items at times.
Should I shave before my appointment or will the artist do it?
I'll handle the shaving as part of the preparation process. This ensures the area is properly prepared and reduces the risk of irritation.
Can I bring a friend with me to the studio?
Yes, you can bring one friend for support. However, please note that space is limited, and they should be prepared to wait quietly during the session.
Do I need to eat before getting tattooed?
Yes, it's very important to eat a substantial meal before your appointment. This helps maintain your blood sugar levels and makes the experience more comfortable.
Can I drink alcohol the night before my appointment?
No, please avoid alcohol for at least 24 hours before your appointment. Alcohol thins the blood and can affect the tattooing process and healing.
Can you tattoo over scars or stretch marks?
Yes, I can tattoo over scars and stretch marks, but it depends on their age and condition. I'll assess the area during the consultation to determine the best approach.
